OK - Am I missing something?
I took the tops off my 77 and put them in back. The way I placed them does not allow me to access any of the storage bins completely. (I can raise the lid slightly.)
Am I putting them in wrong or is this just the way it is?

That's the way it is!
Think of it as a REALLY good looking woman, a pleasure to drive, but a bit of a nuisance at times.

and you can't put things in the back and access the other compartments.

also the reason that GM made a rack that mounted on the rear deck lid to hold the t-tops when removed. it was ugly, but it was functional and allowed you to store and get to things in the rear behind the seats.

If you use the luggage rack, don't put too much on it or block access or you're SOL.
