Hi T,
Sometimes getting started is the hardest part of a clean/detail job. The second hardest is knowing when to stop!
I'll be looking for your up-dates!
Regards,
Alan
i have started doing the same on my 76, sometimes i wonder why i started!!!
I wish my intake looked like that
Is the engine degreaser a strong product? I mean can you clean the intake using engine degreaser with the intake in the car?
If you get it on the paint? What about that? And what is the name of the engine degreaser?

That aluminum intake looks pretty good and will look OK as it is when reassembled. But, a little bead blasting (NOT sand blasting) will really make it stand out. Now, if you were to have it powder coated with a hi-temp clear coating after the bead blasting, it would be spectacular and easy to clean up in the future.
[Isn't cleaning up the engine bay just so much fun?!!!]
There are just so many things to do and so many choices to make. Like...what to do with all the un-painted/plated bolts? (I chose to clear coat the heads on mine with clear engine enamel. I was tired of having rusty bolts.)
