Scratch
Scratch on my left rear bumper (two piece in '74), question is do I have my body-guy refinish the left bumper and blend the left quarter panel or just paint the lt bmpr?

If it were me, I would have the painter work to get a really good match to the body paint as it is now (not just the original catalog color), then just paint the whole bumper cover. That cover was painted separately anyway; it just needs to match well.

Car was repainted probably 5 years ago or so, so these bumper coverS were painted when the car was painted, but off the car...
I think I'll do that though, have the bumper coverS repainted and call it a day...blending/painting the quarter frigtens me...

Metallic paint can be difficult to obtain a perfect match. But your painter should shoot some sample sheets and compare them to your car in sun and in artificial light to check the match. He/she can adjust the blend as necessary. If there is a very minor mismatch, it's better to have it between the body and the bumper cover, rather than with a blend in a single body panel.
