Im about to start working on my 80 suspension and steering. Anyone see a problem snad blasting steering parts? IE drop spindles, center link, hubs etc? Obviously ill tape off the spindle stud, center link holes, hub hole etc.
Will it weaken the metal at all? This is a basic sand blaster you can buy at sears but i think it would be easier to clean things up.
Tape off machined journals, etc. so the size of precision dimensions doesn't change. Other than that, knock yourself out. (Get all the media off/out of the parts when done.)

I used a couple layers of duct tape, seemed to stand up well to being in the blast area
The cleaner they are the easier it is to blast them clean., and your media will last longer. If you really using sand wear a mask so you don't breath in the dust.
I use aluminm oxide for steel & glass bead for all the cast parts. A buddy of mine loaned me his blasting cabinet. 9 years ago
