I drove my C6 the few hours each way last year. But I replaced it with a C3 now, and my LT-1 will stay in the garage. It's not quite the same quality of ride for that distance. The C5's & C6's are definitely highway luxury performance cars. And the ride back was much faster than getting there, after East Coast Supercharging did a "tune" on that C6!
If I wanted comfortable I would drive a Cadillac to Cadillac's of Carlisle.
I like the way the vette sounds when you hit the gas and you feel the road through the steering wheel. It might not be as fast but it sure is cool with the top down.

Hear, hear...
Wifey's new ride is an 09 STS V8 Premium Luxury Version (302HP). Not quite as quick as the STS-V with 469HP, but it is a nice, luxurious, and quick, driver.

1/2 the fun is driving to and from the show! Although I can barely hear the radio and spend too much $ on gas - it's only once a year and a great time!

Some how the C5 and C6 just can't get the sounds right even with those expensive exhaust.
I took the Exploder in 2008, because I didn't have my car yet. I took it again in 2009, because I didn't have the '70 sorted out sufficiently to take it on a 330 mile run. But this year, the car is running great (knock wood), I just aired the tires, checked the fluids, and made one minor carb adjustment last night. A final check-ride tonight and fill the tank and if all goes well, we'll have a "shark in the dark" situation tomorrow at 5:30 am. I am sure that by the time I get home, my back will be sore, I'll be sweaty and dirty, I'll have spent way too much on gas, and I'll be very happy about it.
