Default 1978 L48 engine paint

I've been trying to find the light blue paint that was used on the '78s. All the auto parts stores just have a darker blue for GM engine paint.

Do GM part counters have spray cans of the light blue - almost robin eggs blue?

Thanks

GM corporate blue is pretty much generic.

I wouldn't call it robin's egg blue, but it's not flag blue either.

Did you try Car Quest? The store I use (in Ontario) has a couple different GM engines blues.

If the parts store paint if markedly different than your engine, it's probably the engine that is wrongly repainted or faded.

GM "Mark of Excellence" blue. Ah....I remember it well. Whoever dreamed that idea up must have had stock in the paint business. After that was announced, almost all GM plants had to change their interior color scheme from 'industrial' green to "Mark of Excellence" blue.
