Hi everyone,
below is a pic of the underside of my center console front of the shift plate. Can anyone tell me what is meant to thread into the two weld nuts? I can't seem to locate anything that fits the profile and spacing.
Fresh air vent cables on non-AC cars. One cable goes to the left kick panel vent; the other to the right. The assembly instruction manual (AIM) shows how the cables route under the dash.
If memory serves, I believe the left cable routes under the steering column, but don't quote me on that.
AIM also has a note on how to adjust the cables to get the slack out.
The screw holes for the trim are broken too. The vendors sell a kit to fix that for $20 or so. I cut some aluminum and a little 'glas work, laid the trim on it and drilled new holes. Lot less than $20 too.

Yeah, I got the kit and plunged the screws [slowly] into the old console material, I can't believe it didn't strip out. It's no wonder this thing sounded like a rattle trap going down the road. I probably had 30% of the interior fasteners I should have. All in now though
