Question.. Did the 1972 Base 350CI 200HP engine with a TH400 have a engine Suffix code Label on the rear of the passenger side valve cover. Usually it's yellow or orange with a black number. If it did what was the nuber for that engine.
Maybe. Some model years had the stickers, other years did not. The NCRS Technical Indformation Manual will list it if it was used. If memory serves, they were white with a two character alphabetical code on them.

Hi 72,
Yes there probably was a broadcast code sticker on your engine.
The base 350 with TH400 had CKX or CDJ. It'll be the same as the suffix for the engine stamp on your engine's pad.
They varied slightly as time went by. Patrick H. has been able to help folks with the labels.
Here's the original from my 71, 350/270, 4-speed, as an example.
Regards,
Alan

99% sure that all 72's had the 3 character suffix code sticker on the right rear valve cover - some had the sticker on the front of the cover too.
I was told while judging mechanical that they all should have it as a rule. Not to say that some did not slip by without one.
I know the Suffix code for my car is the letters that also appear on the engine pad which is CKX, But is there anyone that reproduces those labels?
All the aftermarket outlets we all know well only offer the labels for up to 1969 cars.
John
I can however provide you with an email address for a guy on the NCRS TDB that has made these labels for a bunch of us over the years. I think Alan mentioned him in a previous email (Patrick H).
