Check the tire sidewall and it will tell you the maximum cold air pressure. I keep mine towards the higher end of the maximum allowable...it makes for a bit firmer ride but improved tire wear. Most car makers tire recommendations are for better ride quality...that's certainly OK, but if too low it can ride nice but the tires will heat up faster, causing faster wear.
Experiment with different pressures and find the sweet spot that gives you what you want.
