Default Where is the Block Casting#?

Okay... I'm baffled and humiliated. But I've been searching for like 1.5h. to find the codes on my engine.
I found
"K" Hi Perf Pass near drivers side on Block
I found "L 15 9" on the block at back where Bellhousing bolts up.
and can't find the "512" numbers anywhere?
I know I'm blind but Holy smokes!!

Can anyone give me a smack and tell me where it is? LOL

The casting number is located on the driver's side, top rear of the engine block.

Hi A,
Some blocks also have a 'casting clock'. It's a dial that shows what hour of what shift, on the casting date shown, the cylinder case was cast.
Something else to look for.
Regards,
Alan

Okay found the numbers.. I could see the 396 Promininent. but then I cleaned the end of it as hard as I could and made out the rest of the digits 3512 and it's on a raised pad like the 396 and perfectly in sequence on the pad. but not as pronounced...it's wierd!
The other side I was able to make out L 15 9 Dec 15 1969

Checking date codes right now on the sites.. and not alot of blocks made starting with 396..

So I'm thinking.. could this have been done at the factory where the other digits are not as prominent but get worn over time?
