Default My new Corvette

This is my corvette. Its a 74 stingray. Not the stock paint, but will work for right now. I have been just checking everything over and replaced the seat belts with some we had laying around at the shop. (Safety First) I replaced the carb with a holley which made a huge difference. It just needs some loving care. This should give me something to do this winter.

I like it except for the stick on chrome vents in the vent area, and the trans-am exhaust tips.

Nice vette... I see the look you're going for.
My comment is to change the rallye wheel from Yellow to Black which will better match the whole tinted window / yellow contrast thing you got going on OR put them back silver... the yellow = not so good.

Welcome to the forum. Looks like a nice ride. It appears as though someone put a newer style rear bumper on it. I wouldnt worry about it unless Your going to repaint it. If You are planning any type of returning to original look I would purchase an AIM manual and some shop manuals. Your car looks good in yellow, mine was originally metalic yellow. After seeing Yours I might consider puting it back to that colour.Nice ride and have fun with it.

The color on the ralley wheels is strictly up to your preference. I like the later year rear end on the '74 car. I bought a new '74 and was disappointed with the look of the rounded off rear end. What you have is a solution to that design issue. Enjoy!!

Congrats. Cruise and enjoy.

I had a '74 coupe for a daily driver for a number of years and loved the car.

Thanks everyone. I bought it at the best/worst time of the year. The best because I can really look every inch of it over, and the worst because I would really like to drive it and have some fun. I just keep telling my self that I have all next summer.

I'm not a big fan of the color matched wheels either, but I don't know . . . seeing it sitting on the trailer . . . looks pretty good to me. Also like those sport mirrors, I added some to mine. Post some more pics of the car in daylight when you get a chance. You'll have a lot of fun driving and working on. Drive it a little and get some of your projects completed before summer. There is nothing like cruizing during the summer!!! What do you plan to work on? I know with my car, the more I looked and worked on it, the more things I found that needed to be done. Finally got most of them fixed and enjoyed the heck out of driving it this summer -- just jumped in and drove whenever I wanted.

Nice Vette. Enjoy and have fun this winter. Mine is going up in mothballs this weekend. They've threatened snow twice now but never happened so I think it's time before I get stuck.

I have a 74 as well. What are your goals for the car? Do you want to restore it, hotrod, drag car?

I worked on mine for about 5 years before I was able to enjoy it. You can probably spend winter just tightening bolts and taking inventory and list making.

have fun

Can some one tell me about the trailing arms. I have been looking everything over and they seem a little loose. I have it up in the air and I have movement at 12 and 6 oclock on the tire. All info is needed. Thank you
