It should be in 2 places. Right around the middle of the driver seat on top of the frame and right above the top center line of the rear wheel, also on the top of the frame. You will need a mirror to find the number and if there is any significant rust at all the number may be gone. They weren't stamped very deeply into the metal.

You can't see the stamp on the frame rail under the door with the body on.
You might be able to see the stamp on the top of the rail in front of the #4 mount, driver's side.
In either instance, it's a VIN derivitive and not a complete VIN.

Hi B71,
A pretty serious piece equipment was used to make that stamping. It was so powerfull that it often sank the vin in a slight valley that you can feel with your fingers, or see, even if the frame is quite rusty.
