I have searched the site and I have not be able to find these numbers. Does any one know what the spec are for the stock cam in a 1982 crossfire motor? I'm thinking of making a change but would like to know what I have now before make the change.
I do have a Renagade Manifold on order. (Hope for Christmas arrival). I am also planning to change heads when I install the manifold this spring and may change the cam also at that time.
the cam up grade is a must .the cams in the 82 were soft[they went bad a lot] and not for performance[good for mpg].heads are going to help alot.when i changed my cam i also changed the valve seals[the umbrella type]and the valve springs.use a good double roller chain.i would do all of it at the same time .the new intake should be great, mine is ported out.the guys that you got your intake from can make the best suggestions for your cam .let us know how it turns out.
Don't take the 'humor' personally. I was legitimately curious about a "sock-cam" until I opened the thread and noted it was spelling error. Just some mundane humor indicated...didn't mean to berate for simple typo.

Thank you for any assistance.
I too am very interested how this all turns out and what all you replace with your renagade!
Gota love the internet. This is 13 years old but it's the information was looking for. I inherited my Fathers 1982 a few years back. I've been planning an engine swap for a while now but I think I'll stick with the original. It has a couple of leaks and smokes a little on start up.. I think I'll have it freshened up and maybe make some very small updates. If I'm going to have the cam and lifters out anyways, I could buy one with a couple of degrees more duration, I wouldn't tear into it for just that but why not get an extra 5-10 hp instead of buying another stock one.

Even though this thread is 13 years old, it is wrong on the spec for an 82. Here is the spec that will work and the key thing to consider is the duration @ .050. You can NOT stray too far from the stock duration. A too higher than stock duration will run poorly and the stock ECM will not be able to control the motor efficiently. The only way around this issue is to run the EBL ECM. I would not go any higher than 212 duration with a stock ECM.

Intake duration @ 0.050 202
Exaust duration @ 0.050 206
Intake lift 0.403
Exhaust lift 0.415
Here is another cam from comp that is pretty close that would work as well.
