Thought I had seen everything related to abuse of the term numbers matching. Now a Corvette/Truck engine advertised as 'numbers matching' with no car to go with it?
It looks like he is using the term to indicate that the engine has the correct part numbers and date coded parts.
I got that. Seems the seller is suggesting this may be of interest to someone with a 74 missing an engine? A candidate for restamping? First I've seen this term applied to just an engine.
"Any Questions Please ask. If you do not know what you are buying then log out now and go to proflowers.com and make someone else happy."
He's got a sense of humour at least.
The casting date is J1073 which is October 10 1973. This engine would suit a vehicle built from maybe Oct 25th 1973 onwards, not the Feb- April period the seller mentions.

I've seen people on this forum do the same thing in the Parts For Sale section. An engine, by itself, with "matching numbers." I'd ask what the engine numbers "match" and I get the typical crickets. Duh.
