But not everyone is going to understand that, and the Tank Sticker is what more people know about. Just saying it wouldn't hurt. By all means leave it on the tank if you would rather let a piece of real documentation deteriorate. I'd even photograph it on the tank and have pictures. You can never have to much documentation.

Ya, I hear ya, but as I've stated elsewhere the tank sticker on a later C3 has very little value beyond nostalgic anyway.
The engine type is coded into the VIN
The colours and time built are on the trim tag.
The options are mostly self evident and there's no real rare and desirable or high perf options on these years to make a car more valuable.
The dealer invoices or GM Oshawa documents are available to cross check
So unlike C2s or early C3s, there's little incentive to separate the tank sticker from the car to 'prove' anything.

Both good arguments, but when I get bored in the spring I may pull the tank off and get it , maybe I'll get $10 more for the car when I sell it. I'm kind of curious to see it anyways. Only vette people would pull a tank off for a piece of paper, love it. Ron
