Default Coating on original sidepipe covers

Here's an obscure question for you: What is the correct paint for the original (69) style sidepipe covers to go between the fins? I ended up replacing my center section and put fresh paint on all three pieces rather than trying to remove the paint from all of the others. I used trim black but I don't think it matches what I think the original looks like. I found an ebay ad for a company that is reproducing what looks like very nice quality covers:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...=STRK:MEWAX:IT

They suggest that the original paint is charcoal metalic. Can anyone confirm and suggest a source?

Mine look charcoal metallic....a very dark grey looking in a satin or semi-gloss finish.

Hi ca,
I'm not sure what Gregg's secret is.
I found that the gray phosphate paint that Easwood sells is very close to the original color.
Regards,
Alan

Here's the same paint on the center grill.

Hi ca l v,
I believe the only manufacturer of the side-pipe covers at this time (moldings and insulators) is Paragon.
