Let me get this straight.... You got a 69, big block, convertible for $6k?????
Either the seller was not very knowledgeable and didn't know what the car was worth, which I find a bit hard to believe. Or, the seller has scruples, and something is wrong with the car, and sold it for what it actually is worth. I would be looking over this car very close, and would pay particular attention on the birdcage.
We got it so cheep because it was one of those storys! The guy who owned this car died away back and the sister needed this out of her garage! It sat for about 7 years with crap all over it, just buried under years of junk. Any way my buddy found it, ask the lady about it and she told us it was her brothers and is just taking up space. He asked her how much to buy it and she said she needed 6$ to pay off some debt! So thats that
Congrats! I'm still waiting on finding something like that. I always tend to find the guy with the rusted out basketcase that might be a decent parts car, who thinks it's worth $30k!
I will get some pics up asap, we are not sure if its matching or not. I am leading to belive the drivetrain is all orig but finding out what model the 427 was, is the mystery. We removed gas tank yesterday in hopes of finding build sheet but just a small sliver of paper was left!

You had stated in an earlier post that the numbers had been shaved off when the block was decked. It may have been 'matching numbers' but you'll never be able to prove it if this is the case. No tank sticker to support your claim it was originally a big block. I doubt you'll get any bites from collectors or purists, therefore probably a lower price.
Don't get me wrong, sounds like it may be a nice car. I've said a few times that the lack of numbers means nothing so far as the car being correct, how the car runs, or is seen by 99.9999% of the population. It still has potential to be a great car but probably not for a collector or a buyer who feels numbers numbers are a must have.
You bought it at a great price and should be able to do well selling it so long as you keep the market in which it may sell in mind.
