Default Hardtop Stand

G'day Guy's,
I am drafting up some plans to have a stand for my hardtop made ( abit expensive to have one shipped here to Oz), but need to confirm one measurement, the distance between the short uprights at the front to the tall uprights at the rear. If someone with a stand could measure this for me it would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

Mark

Greetings,

Unless your at a loss for space, you can spend about $50.00 and
build your own with treated lumber and non corrosive wood screws.
I didn't care for the kind that stood the roof up on end.

All of the racks I've seen over the years were a bit to "rickety"
for me with the light weight tubular framework and the cheap caster
wheels. I'm sure there are those who like and trust their frames and
that's great. I had the room to build this frame and it looked safe.

To see all of that weight from the roof applied at the
two corners just scared me. With this method of storage,
its weight is supported to the same area(s) as it would if it
rested on the car.

I designed mine for the header and the entire backside of the window frame to be fully supported.
The rest of the roof is suspended. There is plenty of breathable space underneath the roof.

I covered the frame with a foam pad to prevent any scuffing and a
queen size quilted mattress cover to prevent dust and scratches.

Regardless, good luck. I've attached a few photos of my frame.

I just prop mine up against the wall, protecting the edges with rubber pads... guard it with Halloween lights!

Do the halloween lights keep away the gremlins? If so I gotta get me some!

Mine is homemade out of scrap lumber, scrap carpet, and four casters. The space between the uprights is about eighteen inches by eyeball scale. I did not measure it at the time I built it because it is mounted on a scrap piece of plywood which was already cut. Uprights are about two feet on center.

It stands the top upright and I can roll it around.

Thanks for your input fella's. I have added a picture to more fully explain the measurement I need.
