If the paint's decent and the frame/undercarriage is not too rusty, it sounds like a good deal.

Sounds interesting. You will want the original fan clutch and valve covers. Water pump too, unless it died.

The steering wheel only looks like wood. It's plastic unless the seller has replaced it.

Good luck.

I think the price sounds very reasonable from your description. A Corvette convertible with two chrome bumpers, 1st model year version, and only $14,000? I think there are other potential buyers who are not thinking twice on this purchase.

AND mostly original! (again, not that I care about that, but it does add to value... lol)

Ok so I picked up the car yesterday, and as I am looking at I am wondering how rare is this car? The vin number is 00128. Is this one of the first convertible 68? By a vin date decoder it is showing sept 6 1967.. Any feedback would be great

All the early '68s were convertibles. The coupes came out in the second-third (?) month of production.

Rare? No. Early? Yes. First or second day of production. If memory serves, the coupes did not get into production until January, 1968, so all the early '68s were convertibles.

She has 18629 sisters, one of whom has lived with me since 1984.

Welcome to the '68 owner's club.

Good luck with your car. I hope you are glad you pulled the trigger on this. An early serial number 68 for $14k. That still sounds good to me.
