Default reproduction bumpers

Does anyone have experience with these? Good, great, junk? Should I go through the hassle and expense of rechroming the factories or is the difference negligible?

Some repop stuff is good and some is junk, where do these fall?

Some rear repops are good, some have the mounting brackets welded wrong and stick out from the body.

As for fronts, I'm not aware of any repops that fit at all. They all stick out on the sides.

Hi,
Depending on what part of the world the reproductions are from, they may be VERY disappointing up close.
Re-chrome is good.

Alan

Another guy who learned the hard way....Get your re-chromed ...

I have in the past purchased a pair of rear bumpers for my 72 from the Bumper Boys...the fit actually was fine...BUT in 3 maybe 4 yars the bronze color was showing thru...and believe me it was not because I polished them every day ... Ended up sending them off to be re chromed at least 15 years ago and today they look like new...

Problem is because of the Federal laws etc most of the re-chromers are out of business ....too much hassle to deal with the toxic wastes

Wondering if this means we'd better get rechromes done now before they legislate the remaining shops out of business?
