Engine rebuilder on Long Island
My 71's motor is getting very tired, Can anyone recommend a engine rebuilder on the Island.
I have it narrowed down to a couple of guys but would like to hear from anyone before I go with it.
I thought about a crate motor but want to keep the orginal engine in the car.

I've used McBetts Racing engines a couple of times with great results. They"re in Bohemia now IIRC. Have also used Jack Merkel, no problems there either.
As far as I know all the restoration shops on the Island will farm out the work to some one. Never saw any machine shop equipment at any of them.

Thanks for all the info,
Merkel's been around for a long time, and I have heard both positive and negative about Corvette Repair.
I work in Bohemia so I'll look up IIRC, As well as talk to Corvette Connection..
Also will look into Vette Dreams in West Babylon.

Actually took her out today for the first time since early December.
She started right up and I must say after this long winter it sure was nice to drive her again. Come on Spring weather.
