I am replacing all the hoses in my 77 coupe and cannot get the lower hose installed, any tricks to get it on,I have now cussed it in 7 languages, any help greatly appreciated!
Be careful not to wiggle the part on the radiator that the hose attaches to, it will loosen the connection and make it leak. Ask me how I know ...
Anyhow, I usually put a little spit (gross i know, deal with it, it works) on the radiator and the inside of the hose, and a slight wiggle, it will go on after a couple tries . It's a character builder.

Use the dish detergent/light-wipe-of-grease approach for getting the new hose to slip onto the radiator fitting. If you can't get any leverage on it, wrap some duct tape around the hose and leave long enough tape ends to use for 'hand holds' for pulling the hose into position. Then, [carefully] slice through the tape and remove it.
Some parts stores actually sell "radiator hose grease" in little packs. I used it last time and they went on real easy and were easily repositioned several weeks later.
