What do you want? The best quality carpet available? Or the best place to purchase carpet?
Al Knoch for quality.
Willcox will treat you right. Other vendors are equally good. The carpet in my '68 is Restoration Grade and came from Eckler's years ago. It's good stuff.
Hi UB,
There are only a couple of carpet manufacturers.
So you need to ask the vendor who's carpet they're selling in order to know if you're getting a good price or not.
Regards,
Alan
Yes Sir; I've bought a couple of sets of carpet, but what I bought was pretty thin, not including the jute backing. maybe I am expecting too much!
Does Al Knoch make their own brand of carpet sets, or does someone else make them for them???
just be sure its the right carpet for your car,,also check the carpet and make sure there are no defects like thinning where its molded in the creases some times they overlook this when it goes in the box
forman, That is the exact problem I have I already got from ecklers and it seems to be balding in some of the formed areas. It also seems that it is way to large it seems that I will have a whole lot of trimming to do. I do know that I will have some trimming to do but seems like way too much. I do know that it is made by ACC
hey I have been bent over !! you will be cutting till the cows come home ,,way to BIG .. and wrong color but what can you do when you already cut into it!!! I dont like to bitch about stuff much myself but the carpet box is one of the last boxes you open in a kit In my case it was 6 months after the fact then you send it back and wait another 3 weeks till you can finnish a car....
Easy Mike is correct Al Knoch makes there own in house. I went with there carpet for my car and ran into a problem but they took care of it and I could not be happier. I also went with Al knoch door panels and seat covers.
I purchased the carpet in Knoxville at the expo and it sat in basement for over a year before install but ran into a problem with the pass. side
and brought it back to the next expo and showed them the problem.
Al Knoch was there and tried to correct the defect himself and I returned home but it still was not right. I called them back and then they made a new pass. side carpet and covered shipping.
They took care of my problem and never did I hear the carpet is over a year old (more like 2 to 3 yrs) I lost count . But the problem I had was clearly a defect and when the owner goes out of his way at a car show to resolve the issue they will get my business again.
