Question, would you prefer someone to say "nice Corvette" over "nice Stingray" or does that matter to you?
I get way more "Nice Vette" comments than Stingray, but like I said , unless they said nice FORD or something, I just say thanks and go on. Especially if they say Stingray, that means they feel like they know something about Vettes and to correct them might just make them feel bad, so I don't go there. Now if I am sitting at a car show or somewhere like that a little time spent in education may be worth it. Like I say, Life is a matter of 3 things: Timing, Perspective and Motivation. In every instance of life if you examine those things, usually you will have a better outcome.
To the kids - I have a cool car. Nothing more nothing less. And it puts alot of smiles on everyone's faces when I take it out. Call it what you want, as long as you are enjoying the moment!

Guys, he asked a simple question. No, '78's are not Stingrays. Last one was '76.
I think of a forum like this one as a bunch of guys sittin around shootin the bull. When a simple question is asked, yes you can get a simple answer from one guy, or you can get the banter like this one which helps to provide maybe a little entertainment. If I want short trite answers, I will talk to my teenage daughters...just sayin...
I say yes it is. The term Stingray or Sting Ray, did not refer to any special equipment package, or RPO; it was just a badge. They all look pretty much the same and there are no special RPO's to distinguish them, then I figure they can all be called stingray. Kind of like a nickname for a car.
