I do not see how the item pictured below attaches to the inside of the Parking Brake console. Although it fits perfectly - there is nothing for those "clips" to attach (nothing to keep it attached to the console).
Check the AIM. On original ebrake consoles, this trim piece slides into two slots. The clips then attach to the rear of the shifter console when the ebrake console is butted against the shifter console.
Some of the aftermarket ebrake consoles do not have the slots. The trim piece will still fit the ebrake console and will still clip to the rear of the shifter console.
Not the best pic, but the trim piece is directly beneath the ebrake handle.
This is from the Willcox catalogue. Gives an idea of how the ebrake console fits against the rear of the shifter console. Center indented area is for the trim piece.

Hi,
That piece of removable trim seems to be there just so the 'slide' for the e-brake handle can be removed so the e-brake console can be taken out. A cute little solution.
Regards,
Alan

Duh, got it. It clips onto the SHIFTER Console. I was trying to clip it to the EBrake console.
On my 68 and my 74, I slid the trim piece into the ebrake console as indicated in the AIM. When I butted the ebrake console to the rear of the shifter console, the clips snagged the shifter console.
I once pulled the ebrake console in my 68 and the trim piece stayed with the shifter console due to the clips.
anyone know where I can buy this clip?
I am working on console assy. and mine appears to be missing,
Prefer Black, but any color will do ?
