Default Part Identification Help

Does anyone recognize this part and if so, where does it fit. I painted it orange during my engine bay resto so disregard the color. Length is about 2 inches and width is 3/4 inch.

Thanks,

andy

'69 with a Muncie? Might be the bracket that holds the steering lock cable to the tranny. Don't remember seeing anything else like that in my '69, and I've had everything apart.

WELL DONE Rat!!!!
I just took a look and that's it.
Looks like zinc plating on my 71.

Mine doesn't look exactly the same...and it appears to be either natural steel or maybe black phosphate.

Hi fr,
When I took mine apart I saw what I thought was some plating remaining on the surface that had been up against the case.
You seeing natural doesn't surprise me either.
Regards,
Alan

I believe I read that you're doing some rear suspension work. I've always thought your car was finished.

Time will change. There will be a day when you are answering the questions because you have either done it, seen it or read about it most likely on this super forum.

Hi Alan
Finished? Maybe yours is, but not mine. Probably never will be, at least on my watch. I've still got the rear third of the underbody to do...less the disc brakes, half shafts, shocks and spare tire tub. May do the seats and carpet. The paint and chrome is going to stay original. Had to take a break, stop spending money for a while, get my strength back. This restoration stuff is hard on a 61 year old, especially on jack stands in the Miami heat. Besides, the car is way more fun to drive than work on.
Regards,
Dennis

Hi Dennis,
Thanks for the up -date.
No, mine's not finished either. In fact, there's quite a list right now. It's still the same situation.... one thing leads to another.
My real problem is that I enjoy working on it more than driving it. I realize there's very few people with those feelings.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan
