Hi cc,
There is NO WAY to convince people who haven't restored a car to a high level the incredible amount of TIME an old car can eat.... and hardly show.

Alan

Ain't that the truth!
If you are like me, you have nicely detailed parts hidden away under trim pieces that no one will ever see.
Hi East,
In another life I restored a 29 Chevy 2 door sedan.
A person convinced me that a restoration is only as good as the WORST part on the car; whether it can be seen or not.
I was too young to really know what he meant then; but I remembered his words when I began on my 71.
As your work show SO WELL; once you start it you can't escape!!!!

Alan
And today I just installed one of those center console trim plate mount repair kits. Of course the kit needed modification to fit properly. Now the JB weld is setting up with all 4 corners in perfect place. (sigh). Yes, this interior stuff is very time consuming. Particularly with a "repair not replace" mindset and budget.
Like you, I prefer to spend my time, refurbishing everything possible, than to spend untold dollar$ buying new stuff that doesn't fit well or look exactly like the original components. Those who buy everything to replace defective and/or worn components must have deep pocket$!

I still can't imagine myself, how much time I put in on my car. And it still needs alot of work to bring it even close to the cars I've seen on this site. Labor of love I guess.
