From: I tend to be leery of any guy who doesn't own a chainsaw or a handgun.
I always assumed it was just an eye-sight thing related to the predominant demographic that can afford cars in the C6 price range.

I was washing my '79 at the end of my driveway last week. A chrome bumper idles by , and I give him a big wave . Him looking right at me.... nothing. What an ***hole.
Usually the same response from C5/6 , but I keep trying. Almost always get a wave from a C4 though

I drive a 1980. When I see another Corvette, I wave. If they wave back, that's cool, It kinda gives me a warm fuzzy. If not, I don't give it another thought. Maybe we should stop bashing other Corvette owners. (Except for those C4 guys, what a buncha jerks, huh?)

but, i have to agree, it seems down here in south florida, the "bling" guys with the C6 vettes don't even know about the wave. they own what they own for the effect, not because they are enthusiast in any way. obviously it's not ALL but it sure seems that way most of the time (and i have a C5 also and always wave regardless of generation or which one of mine i might be driving at the time.

The simple solution is just stop waving if it hurts your feeling so much if they don't wave back then you won't be crying about it.
Some of you may agree with me some may disagree.
BTW the picture is of my previous Corvette I now drive a 76.

Nobody owes you a wave, and it's a free country, anybody with enough money can go buy a brand new corvette, and there is no law that says they have to wave to you. Some people think that waving to complete strangers is stupid. I can understand why they feel this way, even tho I am a waver myself. The Corvette Wave is just a fun little thing that some 'vette owners choose to take part in, and the more of a big deal you make out of it, the less fun it becomes, ya know what I mean?
