The first car has been restored and made to mechanically sound. The only issues are the gaps between the doors and fenders...which doesn't bother me because I car more about how the car is taken care of...I can fix the gap later...but I plan on swapping the engine and everything in the future
The second car has been made to go a little faster and somethings were replaced but the engine has been upgraded already...and the body is straight...Which would you guys choose?? Help ASAP!
If you want a more stock style car I would opt for the '81 and if you want a hot rod then the '79 would be better. I prefer the '81 or which ever car has no rust issues.

Price would play a big role in deciding between these 2 ( for me). I am partial to the 80-82 b/c of the body incorporating the front/rear spoilers. Just me preferences. If money was not a deciding factor, I would choose the 81 . Good luck. as long as its a Corvette, you wont go wrong! Make sure you pick the one that catches YOUR EYE !

If you get the 81, please find out how he got his wheels looking like chrome ! Please ! (unless they ARE chrome ).
just looked at the 81's website. SWEET looking ride. I would pick the 81 b/c it is NOT been rodded up.
Decided... the 81. I was drawn to this car for the reason that it was well maintained and cared for. It's not perfect...but what car is. This car just hit my Manly weakness for a second...more power and speed...but I have come to my senses. That was close... I mean I literally was going to pick the money up and this car just jumped in front of me like "Hey you! don't you wanna go fast!"....I shook it off though...tomorrow I should be the proud owner of a 1981 corvette....for my 30th birthday(born in 81) WOOHOOO

I think you made the better choice. #2 car is still a project car.
I had to smile when I saw this post. Just about the only universal advice that you find on this forum is to buy the best, most finished car that you can find. I looks like one of us finally listened!

I don't think those are chrome. To me it looks like you can see where the polishing stopped at the edge of the slots. It's not too hard to get them like that. Get a mothers polish wheel for your drill (can find at any parts store) and some of the mother's wheel wax or something comparable. Works best if you remove the tires and valve stems. Wash the dirt and grime off the car and then pull out the drill and go to work on them.
I thought about buying the chromed wheels for mine but after I gave it a shot with the drill I found that I could make them just as shiny. I'm just waiting to remove the tires and stems to really go after mine.
I was surprised how well and fast it worked and mine had been sitting up for years and looked terrible.
Meeting him tomorrow... Will post pics if it makes it the 2 hr drive home!
Im Excited...Thanks for all the advice guys...I hope to become knowledgeable so I can give the next person advice...I will be a part of this forum family for a while I am sure!
