My build sheet says my 68 Lemans Blue was built with a white convertible top and black interior. I always thought it was unusual that the top and interior were not the same color.
Is this common?
If not what do you guys think of this combination?
Does anyone have pictures of this combination?
Hi AW,
The info I have indictes that in 68 the black interior was a possibility with the LeMans blue. I'd THINK that one of the 2 blues was a more common interior choice? Maybe not.
I'd prefer blue, blue, white.
Regards,
Alan
The choice of to color is usually based on how it looks with the exterior paint color. With a lighter blue metallic car, a black top would not be that attractive, IMO. But, a black interior would be OK. (Blue/white/white would be better, IMO)
Think about it: 1968 Corvettes were available with white, black and tan convertible tops.
While the matching the top was a common combo, the fact is 1968 Corvettes did not offer a white interior, so EVERY car with a white top did not match the interior. And there were lots of white tops out there.
