I would think a 229 dollar filter manufacturer would at least list the micron particle size that their filter goes down to. In addition, they have a magnet, but what good is that for non-magnetic particles.
Oh my, I change my oil once a year, Oil filters, ACDelco PF-1218 cost me around 3.00. divide that into 229.00, it will take around 76 years to equal that out. I'm so old, I remember cleaning out the first add on oil filter on my 55 chevy, what a mess. I don't know what kind of soap would get that clean. I used shop rags, several of them, LOL Have a great day. Gene
I would love to have a list of every person who has purchased this product, because I have some swampland.....err....I mean, very exclusive oceanfront property I would like to sell!
also depends where its measured.....Detroit, moment to moment.....
that lifetime crap by its very language is merely a come on and normally limited to one year or a single one time replacement......and that's the universal rule in the auto parts business anyway
Joking aside, you'd have to clean this out in near laboratory conditions.
The great thing about a disposable filter is the muck all stays one side of the filter and never has a chance to get to the other side.
All you need is one piece of engine swarf to get transferred to the engine side unnoticed and your $230 oil filter could happily send it off to score your crank, block a lifter or do some other injury that would make a $5 oil filter look like a very good investment
I pay a little under $5 dollars for a Wix oil filter. At 229 dollars, that is roughly 46 filters...at 3000 mile intervals...138000 miles. Hmmm, the real money is saved in not having to use soap!
