Default info please

OK, maybe this should be posted somewhere else but......I am fairly new with this having purchased a '69 Coupe, 350/300, 4 spd and I would like to know what the various "L" designations mean. That is, for example, L36, L48, L88, etc. Is there some info somewhere that identifies all these designators?

Help a newbie here.

There are several sites that list the engine RPO (Regular Production Option) codes for 1969, here is one: http://www.1969-corvette.com/options.asp. The 350ci/300hp was the standard/base engine if no upgrades were ordered, I do not believe it has an RPO # assigned (I'll be corrected if I am wrong!)

Congrats on your new ride (both of you!) - '69 is one of my favorites!

Hi Indy,
I believe at some point the base 350 engine was referred to as an L-48. I'm not sure just when though.
Regards,
Alan

I think you got yourself a great looking car at a very fair price.
Good luck with it. Enjoy!
