Default Vette Vue Magazine

Hey guys need a little help. I never got May 2011 issue of Vette Vue Magazine and they do not have any more to offer. If any one has one in mint condition I'm a buyer! Thanks, AL.

Well,

For anyone interested here's where things are currently at:

Went to well known race engine shop in area (in business for 45 years), and confessed. Good guys, and they didn't seem to think that the engine would necessarily be a complete boat anchor. According to them a spun bearing(s), would normally result in "strings" of copper-like bearing material showing up in the oil, along with reduced oil pressure on starting, etc. with possible not-fun noises emanating from the motor.

I drained all of the oil that I had put in last night, and then ran it through a funnel with a very fine mesh screen. There was absolutely nothing at all on the screen.The canister filter element was completely clean with nothing either outside or inside the center bore that I could see. There was no metal of any kind anywhere in the oil or on the filter that I could spot.

Possibly a stuck PCV valve could account for the oil that went missing in action between when I checked before driving the car home last year, and taking it out of storage. I will be installing a new PCV valve, and on the advice of the race shop may run Joe Gibbs break in oil for a few hundred miles just to make certain that the rings are properly seated, as the motor was refreshed perhaps 2,000 miles ago.

The main problem now is that I am having an even harder time than normal keeping my eyes of the oil pressure gauge when driving. Yikes.

You inspired me to go check my oil and tranny fluid. I'm planning on cruising up to Geneva on the Lake with my girlfriend tomorrow. I don't want any unforseen problems. I don't want to hear that noise that comes from banging my head on the wall.

the moral to us all, you with your oil, me with my radiator fluid...just like small plane pilots...check, check, check, check before taking off especially after change or idleness.

The fact that you have 40psi at hot idle is telling you things are still tight.
