Pitman Arm Alignment
I am trying to instal the Pitman arm on to mt new steering box and can't get it started. I assume that I haven't got the splines ligned up. Anyone know the trick to doing this? I do have a new arm that I could attach to the box and then bolt to the steering linkage where the current one is attached. Is that the way to go?

I saw the "flat" splines but couldn't see them when trying to fit the arm on the output shaft. After I cleaned the Pitman arm a little better, I found an indicator mark on the back, bottom that lined up with a mark on the steering gear casting. I lined up the flat spline with the two marks and presto! It all worked out.
