May I asked where did you get the kit shown on your reply. I called the vendor where I ordered the kit I like. it does included the hardware but no template for easy installation like the one posted. As an engineer this should be easy measurement, but I rather use a kit which include such template.

You could probably just remove your driver side mirror and hardware and make a similar template from that. I'm pretty sure the screw pattern is symmetric.

I'm still amazed that NO ONE (that I know of, anyway) produces a convex mirror to fit into the early C3 mirror bodies. So, we are left to see very little of what's behind us on the right...or to the right of us, because we are all relegated to flat right side mirrors [unless we want to upgrade to a 'sport' mirror, that is].
