FWIW, I prefer the Garmin Nuvi...never let me down --Pete
and for those of us a bit older, lol, the 4.5" screen is a bit easier to follow along with. not to mention the variety of screen shots and the ring just before a turn is required. just another opinion however.
some of us just turned 68 years old...and still driving the vette! I have the smart phone droid x already so it saves one more appliance to plug in or charge and the screen on a droid x is pretty big. The voice tells you well ahead and as you approach every turn.
google maps is just plain terrific on the Droid x.
If I didn't have a smart phone then I'd have a gps but probably only use it for locating new places.
the other advantage of the smart phone is you can use it when you travel and go by air to a new city....in a rental car.
I fought smartphone buying for quite a while but wouldn't be without one now. Simplified my travel life entirely.
