Maybe you guys call it something else. I'm talking about the extreme right part of the road that no one drives on that is just wide enough to stop and change a tire or receive a speeding ticket if a cop is looking to put some extra $ in the government coffers that day.

Last night on my walk with my wife, we were talking. (I've got 1.5yrs to retire and we had always planned on purchasing an '03 rag top Annie Vette and tour Canada and the States. ) My wife recalled two years ago how a driver had come across that same stretch of highway , went through the ditch and hit a family friend in her little red car (20 yr old girl) head on and killed her instantly. The other driver walked away. He was driving a full size pickup. And 6 years ago a family friends son (also 20) hit some black ice, lost control and slid into an oncoming 3/4 ton. He also died instantly. So she mentioned maybe we should be looking at something bigger than the '03 Annie. She thinks a full size Caddy SUV - I suggested maybe a Hummer (but that went over her head. ) Our vacations for the last 10 years have consisted of 1) picking the hottest ,nicest day in the summer. 2) taking the T-Tops off the vette. 3) getting out on the highway and slipping over to Moose Jaw , 45 miles away for some ice cream. 4) walking around their nice little park. 5) coming home and enjoying every second with that wind in our hair and sun on our face.
I think thats what I really look forward to - the wind in the hair thing while seeing our 2 great countries.

Would you give up the Rag top Annie for the extra sercurity of a full size SUV? Theres a LOT of miles from little 'ol Regina to the West coast, down through California , Texas , Florida , Carolinas , NY , PEI and then home !

Sounds like you really enjoy the vette and don't care for the SUV.
