Default Vacuum relays - $$$$ vs $

Are the more expense ones worth it? It seems every vendor sells both. The cheap ones are about 1/3 of the expensive ones.

I need to replace all three in my 71. No, I can't rebuild them. They're too far gone.

Hey. Order the cheapos, but buy two of each piece! That's still less expensive than buying the high-priced "spread". That should keep you up-and-running for at least 10 years.

That makes a little bit of sense

In past times, I would tend to agree with Easy Mike. But, with the '*****-nilly' aftermarket parts business the way it is these days, there is no consistency on the hi-priced parts being significantly better. I believe the "costlier is better" approach does hold true for critical "hard" parts, like steering/suspension items...as long as you purchase a known-good brand. For other parts...not so much.

That's why I put the "usually" in there.

It depends. The 3 smaller relays being offered are delco like the factory original. Do you want the correct appearance part, if not go for the imports.

From a sales point I'd have to say no... go with the cheap relay, the higher priced ones are not worth it. There are several manufacturers of this imported valve and the one we carry now has a perfect sales to return ratio. Zero returns year to date and over 150 pcs sold.

We used to get these from a different supplier and boy they were a nightmare.

IMHO,

Willcox

Got mine at Willcox. Good (actually the best) price and they work great. No complaint here.
