This may sound silly to some of you, but as a new owner of a 71 LTI why do I see some people calling vettes > "vert"??
LT1 arrives next week, and I cant wait!!!
Hi MrSki,
Personally I don't like shortened 'vert', but would love to have a convertible!
Perhaps you're actually waiting for your new, 'T'. Is it a 'vert' by any chance?
You must be counting the days!
Regards,
Alan

Because some people don't mind sounding like they just got into Corvettes and convertibles specifically, a few months ago.
I just learned something...I did know vert was convertible and did think verts were also roadsters, untill I looked it up....
RoadsterFrom Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
A roadster is a two-seat open car with emphasis on sporty handling and without a fixed roof or side weather protection. Strictly speaking a roadster with wind-up windows is a convertible but as true roadsters are no longer made the distinction is now irrelevant. While roadsters usually have soft-tops, retractable hard-tops are becoming more common. The term "speedster" is closely related, and shares near identical terminology. However, it is normally reserved for cars which rely on very minimalist use of a windscreen, if at all, in addition to the altogether lack of any form of weather protection[/COLOR]
I dont know either, i learned it here, so its vert
very nice, indeed
It's just an abbreviation used in typing on forums. Just like the abbreviation used above in reference to owning a 72 corvette convertible. He means a 1972 Corvette convertible, just his abbreviation is acceptable to him.
I see it and use it also. Just like IMO, BB, SB or LOL. Nothing wrong with it but it would sound stupid to use it while talking about the car same as using the other abbreviations I mentioned.
This is a forum that you just need to get your meaning across to a reader, not grammar school.

In order to do that one would need to use the right terms & would not get the meaning across using words incorrectly such as "correct" to mean stock or original. So even smart guys have to figure it out or ask.

Just like some people calling Corvettes, "vettes"
So I guess you could have a "vert vette"
By the way where are the pictures of your new ride?...We can't wait.
