74 hood interchangeability

I have a custom hood that was made for my 74, trying to sell it. Someone with an 80 wants it, will it fit.

The hood will fit, but the latches are completely different on the 77-82 hoods. It's not easy to convert the hardware over either.

Yes, but the hood only needs a couple more holes in it with some nutserts for the "hook" latch that is used in the later years to bolt to it. I don't think it is that hard. I think it is much harder to convert the later hoods to the earlier cars.

Fit will be determined by the quality of your aftermarket hood and the installation expertise of the 80 owner. If either is lacking, no one is going to be happy.
