My headlights and wiper cover will not open on my 1970. I'm sure its something with the vacuum lines, but I'm looking for some help to narrow the problem. Any ideas? Thanks.
Hi drs,
It's unlikely that both the head-light and wiper switches have failed. Have you checked the fuses? Do the headlights come on but not open when you pull the ****? Do the wipers work if you first open door manually?
Since you have vacuum at the manifold I'd begin to test for vacuum at the relays, and then at the actuators, to see where it vanishes.
Remember the green striped hose side of the actuators is the 'open' side, so test there first.
Regards,
Alan
If you are hearing any hissing sound from the driver's dash area, the vacuum feed line may have come off the headlight switch. With that 'feed' line leaking, I don't think either system would function properly...if at all.
I will check the hose to the headlight switch. Do i have to take the dashboard off to get to the switch? Also the overrides for both headlights and wiper dont work. When i pull the light switch the lights do go on. They just dont pop. Nothing works with the wipers.
