Default question about electrical

New to forum. I just bought a 69, the tail lights and back up lights, back side marker lights not working-any suggestions about where to start. Brake lights are working.
Have power on both sides of leg at fuse box. any suggestions?

i would certainly check to make certain the taillamp bulbs are the correct ones. then i would check to see if you are getting power to the appropriate sides of the bulb sockets. they are all obviously tied togegher and i would also check the ground to that circuit that is the most common electrical problem you will face with a C3

Hi cgb,
WELCOME!!!!
New member and new old 69. MUST have a couple of pictures so we can enjoy your 69 too!
Since you checked for power at the fuse; have you checked for power at the sockets?
Regards,
Alan

You'd be surprised what crazy things the wrong bulb jammed into the socket can do

My 1968 has a single ground wire for the rear lights, it connects to the driver's side frame at the same place as the antenna ground strap. I don't know if that's the stock location. A test light and some jumpers with alligator clips will help you figure it out

if the brake lights work it is not the ground wire.

also theres a connector down by your foot dimmer switch that connects your entire rear harness to the front under dash harness. Check for power there ( the brown wire i think)and make sure the connection is good.

this is also assuming that you have dash lights and front running lights, and your turn signals work?
