I drove about 70 miles (round trip) on Saturday to a small car show (benefit for a new church); then drove about 200 miles (round trip) to a 500 car show outside of Nashville, TN on Sunday. Lots of fun driving the car on 2-lane country roads and on the highway, now that it has an overdrive tranny.
I normally put 2000-3000 miles on the car each year. I'll probably drive it more and to further shows in the future.
P.S. If your C3 is uncomfotable, unreliable, and/or HOT.... fix it.
i spent this summer just doing that. I added a shut of valve to control the heat coming into the cabin, changed all the ball joints and added a VBP rack and steeing, and a Shark bar with 5 point Harnesses.... drive like a brand new VETTE
I've been rather lucky this year...since taking my '77 out in April, I've driven it EVERY DAY right up to today!! What a great car...yes it looks great, paint, custom interior, mechanically sound etc all redone and it's not a trailer queen...the other 7 years, I just took it out in good days only, so this year I decided to drive it to work and around. Had to replace the starter and a new fuel pump. That's it. What a great way to enjoy the spring, summer and now fall...she is going in soon to rest for the winter.
Domer.
My next C3 is going to be a resto mod with 5 or 6 speed tranny. Love driving mine and do so as much as I can, 4 speed limits the pleasure for highway road trips.
i think that i will go manual too, or maybe swap the 700R to a electronic trany, where, you can adjust the shift points and the up shifts with a lap top.
If you want a daily driver get a C6 or a C5, or even a C4, or a Porsche if you can afford one. You can do a lot of other fun stuff with these cars too. If you want a hobby, get a C3. As far as what I do with my car? Aside from driving it once in a while, I LOOK at it every time I go through my garage.

I get you, every time I look at mine, I am always blown away on how nice these c3 are.
