Did your AIM ever arrive? AIM has a page outlining the preferred factory gaps.
If you get door/fender gap 3/16th" to 1/4", even top to bottom, and the same on both sides, you have done well.
These are good:
If your doors require any adjustment, do them now before you start aligning the clip.
