Default Krylon 1613 Gone?

I can't get the good stuff here in CA. What is everyone using instead to paint semi-gloss black?

Hi tj,
As of a couple of months ago the original lacquer formula of Krylon #1613 was still available through industrial suppliers.
I buy it from a Photo/Film Company I found on the net. Ironically it's located in California.
Have you tried a 'search'.
Regards,
Alan

People have reported good success using SEM, Eastwood, and John Deere black too.

Alan is correct. The old 5-ball Krylon lacquer we all grew to love is now considered an "industrial coating" by the Krylon folks and available through their industrial coatings retailers.

Grainger. They should be more worried about polution than spray paint.Weather there is nice but I couldn't put up with the government trying to save me from myself.

If the 'paint thing' bothers you, you'd better hitch up your shorts for the next wave of gov'm't protectionism.

{Gee, how did we survive this long without all this gov'm't "help"?}

John,
I purchased the car in Aug of this year and it was gone.
I think it was removed several owners ago.
There is a valve below my washer bag that's about all that's left of thee emissions.
But to answer you if I had it you could have it for the cost of the postage to mail it to you.
I did that often during my Norton Commando restoration.
Sharing spares was not an uncommon thing among thee vintage bike
scene. We were like real family. I still have her she's yellow like my vette.

They are. Rattle can spray paint contributes to pollution (two Ls in pollution) depending on the type of propellant used.

I agree with what Alan and Mike said but for clarification sake Krylon 1613 is, in fact, Semi Flat in sheen not semi gloss. There is a difference and it should be used in those areas of the car that call for that sheen.

I got mine through Film/Tools. Seem to be a good company to do business with.

I went to their website and I couldn't find it. The only Semi-Flat Black was "Tough Coat, acrylic enamel" I will try to call them. The Krylon number is K01613A00.
Thanks everyone. Most of the vendors won't ship to CA..
