Default got lucky twice

first,,a friend gave me some r 12 to take with me to the shop to see if i could my ac working.two hours later the shop says to me that your air is working fine,so i consider that a small miracle.just wanted to share that with all of you. secondly,i was looking thru e bay at other 68 vettes to compare prices, and found a picture of the rear compartment housing removed, the one behind the passenger seat, and low and behold theres the jack,,i never knew it was under the insert. so i go over to my 68,open the compartment door, pull out the insert, and bang, the jack, shinney black,no rust, but no jack handle.thats ok cuz i can get another.only problem now,is i see that the jack is cocked, sort of bent as it sits in its closed position.someone must of used once,or twice, its that clean, but unfortunatly put a slight twist in it.im just so glad to have found it,,thought id share the experence.oh ya,its dated 8A. talk to you later, tom in cleveland.

Lots of good stuff in the owner's manual. You could have found your jack years ago.
