Default 1975 Dash Interchange

OK, so I finally got my first Corvette. When I get around to taking a pic, I'll post it and officially introduce myself to the forum. It's a 1975 and is in pretty nice shape.

So my first question about this car... I need to replace the lower left dash (the part with the speedo and tach). I need the whole thing... bezel, gauges, vents and all. So what years will interchange? I think I was told the tach drive changed in 1975 from a cable to electronic, but I'm not sure.

Thanks!

Rick

How about this one? Its from a 72, which is all identical from a 75, other than mentioned above the tach. No cracks breaks etc. Asking $200 plus $30 for shipping

Looks like an electric tach to me.

The left dash pictured here is not from a 72, as stated.

The tach in that cluster is a 75-77 electric tach, not a 72 cable driven one. Also, 72 dash panels didn't have the small rectangular air vent, to the right of the column. The vent was only found on 74-77 dashes, and only in cars with air conditioning.

Because of the vent and tach installed in it, the dash appears to be either a 75-76 or 77 dash. There is a slight difference to the 77 dash, but I can't recall exactly what it is right now.

If the OP's 75 has air conditioning, this dash, as well as any other 74-76 dash panel will work for him. If he does not have air, then the left side panel from any non air, 71-76 Corvette will work. The 75-76 both use the same electronic tach, and while 77 also uses the same tach, the face is slightly different.

Thanks for the responses. My '75 has a/c so it looks like this dash/gauge combo might work. I'm not concerned if the face of the gauge is from a different year as long as the both work.
P/M sent to chstitans42.

Well you learn something everyday. Im pretty good at telling what parts are from what years, but I guess I need to brush up on my chrome bumper details. Guess that is what happens when you dont have your own to work on

To answer your question, the 77 dash differs only in the far right side, where it meets the center guage bezel. Since it was converted from a pot metal housing to the plastic one, that edge is different. instead of resting along side, it actually covers that edge a little. take a look:
