Engine VIN pad question....
Newbie here!!!
If I were to look at the engine VIN pad to verify the partial VIN number, would I be able to see the pad and read it even with the AC compressor and smog pump (I think - sitting on top of water pump?) in place? Below is a borrowed picture (from forum member dslater35) of a '75 Vette engine compartment, which seems to be very crowded and tight with everything in place. What would you do in this case to verify the number on the VIN pad? Thanks in advance!!!

You'll probably want a flashlight. It helps. Remember: there are two numbers stamped on the pad. You will want to jot down both.
