how much for a 74 stingray
Hi, I know a guy who has a 1974 Stingray with a 454. the guy has like no interest in it what so ever. it's been sitting in my garage for almost a year and the guy hasn't said a word about it. i think he might just want to get rid of it. i was planning on making him an offer on it but i dont know how much i should offer him.
the car has seen a lot better days. it needs a new paint job. is missing some of the minor interior parts and emblems. it was origanly an automatic but my dad and i converted it over to a 5-speed. the engine could use a minor tune up. and i know he didnt pay a lot for it to begin with. it does have some nice custom side pipes and good tires.

2. Did he pay you for the trans work?
hmmm... or did you get it originally to do the trans work and then you just kept it?
I would offer to trade him the car for your storage fees. That would be a good point to start negotiations.
A '74 Stingray coupe with a 454, a 5-speed tranny and a poor paint job would be worth somewhere between $6000-8000, IMO. If the mechanical components in the car need some repair, take another $1K [or so] off that amount.
You would not be out of line making a $5000 offer, if he is interested in selling but doesn't know what he wants for it.
A decent paint job will cost you somewhere in the $4500-8000 range, if you can't do it yourself.

1. You are posting your pictures wrong. I'll send instructions.
2. No guesses on the price are remotely valid until you tell us whether the 454 is numbers matching to the car or not.
