We have a 1969 roadster and for the life of me I've tried everything to stop the passengers side (right hand) hood from popping open when we hit a bump in the road / drive up a drive way yadda, yadda, yadda.... it's always the passengers side that pops open when the body flex's! Is this a typical issue ? Cause it's driving me crazy! I've adjusted and adjusted and loosened and tightened cables and latches lockdown springs but todate
could be the bottom of the pin is worn are you sure it is latching all the way you can use powered chalk to coat surfaces to see were it is hitting you can use a little bit of sray lube to get chhalk to stick if it wont
if your cable between the 2 top latches is adjusted to tight,
it will not allow the passangerside to engage the the latch 100%.
this is adjustable on the drivers side latch,
thier is a square plate with multipule holes in it, move the pin for correct adjustment as needed.
to allow the passanger side to fully engage the hood pin.

Done that too... in fact have adjusted it so loose now at one stage it wouldn't even open when you pulled that cable all the way out... I reckon i've got about an inch play now before the passeneger side starts to pull

I tried even adjusting the pin up and down however this din't do anything for it it just ment I had the hood sitting up proud at one corner or alternately sitting low? I did use bearing blue on the pin to ensure it was engaging all the way and centered.....as for warn...... hmmmmm I;d have to have a real good look again?
I'd hate to resort to fitting lock down pins just to keep the bonnet closed but it's becoming a real pain!
Tape over the female latch on the hood, lower the hood til it hits the pin and leaves a mark on the tape.
The pin probably isn't centered. It will take a few times but unless things are worn you should be able to align it.

YES, it's always the pass side.
There are many adjustments in that hood latching system. What worked for me is to tighten down the teepee. There is a rubber bumper that also needs adjusted if doing so on yours results in that corner of the hood being sunken. So it's up on the bumper and down on the teepee to get a tight, but level fit. It's hard to say, what worked for me, will work for you. Also, try moving that teepee mount towards the driver side to get as much 'perch' on the hood catch as possible.
